My Review

I thought it was great how quickly the story got going and especially how the plot moved along with no slow parts. We are introduced to Kate and she has had her confidence knocked badly by her ex fiancé. I loved how she was trying to rebuild both her life and her business after the actions of the man she once loved. Kate is independent and strong which are great personality traits, I was definitely rooting for her.

Scott is the perfect love interest he's smart, strong and protective of his brother. I think I probably fell a little bit for him too! I loved the interactions that Kate and Scott shared they were at times fun but packed full of flirting! However with Scott trying to throw the wedding off course can Scott and Kate find their happy ever after?

I loved the setting of Big Bear for the wedding it really was the perfect place for a wedding. Then of course to see Kate and Scott trying to contain their sizzling chemistry aswell as a few secrets along the way. This book was fun, flirty and pretty sizzling at times but also had a lovely heart warming feel to it. I pretty much read Tempting Kate in two sittings it was perfect to unwind with and forget all about your day!

 My Review

When the opportunity came up to join the blog tour for T.A. Williams new book I jumped at the chance. Thank you, Faye!

So what did I think...

The opening to the story grabbed my interest and you get a great insight into Penny's caring personality. Penny was a delight to get to know she is kind, determined and even though life isn't all sunshine and roses for her she still has this positive outlook on life. When I had finished the book it was as if I actually knew her, that's how well she was written. I really enjoyed the proposition that Penny is offered it's such a great storyline that instantly got my attention. I really don't want to talk too much about the story or go into the plot as I would hate to ruin the book for everyone else. So i'm afraid I am going to leave it there and if you want to know more you definitely won't be disappointed if you pick up a copy of this book. 

A special mention has to go to Gilbert the dog, T.A. Williams usually has a cameo of at least one very cute Labrador in his books and Gilbert is a lovely addition to the story. All of the characters brought something to the story and I especially liked Caroline.

Italy is one of the places I would love to visit and it was fantastic seeing Venice brought to life right in from of me. I was completely focused on this book with Trevor's delightful way of telling the story. With a beautifully descriptive way that always manages to transport me to the very places he describes. I enjoyed the fact that the book was set in both London and Venice as you see Penny come out of her comfort zone and slowly begin to flourish. This story has lots going on with comical moments along the way but also packed full with themes of friendship, love and romance.

The story moves very smoothly and quickly meaning before I knew it I was half way through and I really didn't want to put it down. Although I am sure my boss wouldn't have appreciated a zombie sat at the desk the next day! The following evening I finished and it was one of those moments where you wanted to find out how everything turns out but also sad because it was ending. The storyline had me hooked and I have to say it's now one of my new favourite books by T.A. Williams. If you ever need a pick me up from every day life T.A. Williams is guaranteed to provide you with a story that will always leave you with a smile!

Dreaming of Venice is both delightful and charming!

My name is Trevor Williams. I write under the androgynous name T A Williams because 65% of books are read by women. In my first book, "Dirty Minds" one of the (female) characters suggests the imbalance is due to the fact that men spend too much time getting drunk and watching football. I couldn't possibly comment. Ask my wife...

My background, before taking up writing full time, was in teaching and I was principal of a big English language school for many years. This involved me in travelling all over the world and my love of foreign parts is easy to find in my books. I speak a few languages and my Italian wife and I still speak Italian together.

I've written all sorts: thrillers, historical novels, short stories and now I'm enjoying myself hugely writing humour and romance. My most recent books are the What happens… series. What happens in Tuscany reached #1 in the Amazon.uk Romantic Comedy chart and What Happens on the Beach, the last in the series, came out in July. Chasing Shadows is still romance, but with the added spice of a liberal helping of medieval history, one of my pet hobbies. I do a lot of cycling and I rode all the way to Santiago de Compostela on a bike a few years back. This provided both the inspiration and the background research for Chasing Shadows.

I’m originally from Exeter, and I’ve lived all over Europe, but now I live in a little village in sleepy Devon, tucked away down here in south west England. I love the place.

My Review

I had seen lots of bits and pieces on social media regarding this book so I was delighted when The Many Colours of Us popped through my letterbox. The blurb had me intrigued and I couldn't wait to get started. So what did I think...

Right from the start you empathise with Julia as her family life isn't perfect. Then when she makes the discovery of who her father is it makes everything all the more complicated. After finding out the truth it sends her on a journey of finding out about her parents hidden past.

I found Rachel Burton's writing to be wonderfully descriptive as I was so very easily transported into the story and also into Julia's life. 

Julia is strong and determined it was so easy to get attached to her character as she comes to terms with the past especially as there is nothing she can do to change things. Julia has a lot of patience when it comes to her mother and I have to say at times she was much more understanding than I probably would have been. I guess that's why I liked her character so much she tried to focus on the positives which is an extremely difficult thing to do I know I often struggle with this.

Edwin is pretty perfect, the chemistry that both Julia and Edwin share is beautiful but the past resurfacing doesn't make things easy. Will there be a happy ending well you really will have to read and find out for yourselves. 

The characters within this book are all well developed and play their parts perfectly from Julia's mum Philadelphia right through to Marco the Italian restaurant owner.

The story had a hopeful feeling to it even when Julia was having a hard time processing everything. Also the theme of forgiveness and the ability to let go of the past even though it can be painful to do so. 

One of the best things about this book was the letters that Bruce wrote and left for Julia. They were poignant and heartfelt, they helped me become even more immersed in the story than I already was. I do have to mention that there is a reference to Maltby, Rotherham in South Yorkshire I loved this as I live very near there. I actually finished this book over a 24 hour period whenever I had a spare moment I was reading this book. The story moved smoothly and held my attention completely with a moving plot and engaging characters.

Full of secrets from the past but also hope & love! 

I highly recommend this beautiful story, a huge five stars from me!

My Review

I couldn't help but be drawn to this story after reading the blurb. It isn't every day you get stuck in a lift with your childhood crush. Is it ever a good idea to revisit the past well let's take a look at what I thought...

My heart went out to Elena I could totally get where she was coming from in relation to her crush. I think most people can admit to at one point in their life being in Elena's position of unrequited love but maybe not in such a slightly stalker esque way!

I loved the part in the lift and how everything played out it was great to see Daniel and Elena's first meeting in years. I have to admit I think I had a bit of a crush on Daniel myself at that point. Their chemistry is pretty perfect and I really was hoping for a happy ever after but will everything turn out ok in the end?

There are plenty of comical moments which were just right for cheering me up. I have to say Elena's box that she kept to remind her of Daniel was a great source of amusement. Although at times pretty embarrassing for Elena!

This story had charm, romance and definitely left me with a warm glow. The pace of the story was good, the storyline kept my interest throughout with a fun and entertaining plot.

Stuck With You had me completely entertained with a delightfully light and engaging story!

My Review

As a Mills and Boon Insider I am delighted to be sharing my review of The Secret Marriage Pact. I have to admit I have a soft spot for Historical Romance so as soon as I saw this book I knew I had to read it. 

What did I think...

I love that you get to know Jane pretty well throughout this book, I would best describe her as strong willed but also a loyal person who is determined to gain as much independence as she can. With these personality traits I instantly liked her especially as her life hasn't been a bed of roses. The fact that Jane and Jasper are pretty much life long friends was a brilliant way of showing their relationship as they already know one another. Even though some time had passed since they last saw each other you get a lovely sense of a deep connection. I was intrigued as to how everything would work out especially with Jasper's business dealings. It was so easy to feel sorry for him and the conflict he feels concerning his business. 

The story moves quite quickly and it was great to see Jane and Jasper reconnect and decide to commit to a marriage of convenience. Will their feelings deepen though that is the question? With an overall light hearted story this book is perfect to sit back and relax with.

The Secret Marriage Pact is the fourth book in the Business of Marriage series although I think it works perfectly well as a standalone story. It would be lovely to go back to the very start and read from the beginning when I get the chance!

Strong and likeable characters that will have you hoping for a happy ever after!

My Review

The story as ever moves along so quickly that I managed to read it in one morning. I always look forward to the next book in the Vivienne Series and I have to say this is just as good as the rest of the series if not possibly my favourite so far.

It was interesting to see Vivienne's interactions with Evan and it made a change to see her not at her fully confident self. Although to be fair both Evan and Sebastian brought out a few of her insecurities. I loved how different the two men are who come into Vivienne's life. It was a great contrast and it was actually fun to see Vivienne out of her comfort zone with both of them. What will happen next though that is the question.

This book is light hearted and perfect if you have a bit of free time just to relax with. Vivienne is a great character, it has been so much fun getting to know her and follow her on this journey. I can't wait to read the next book and see what else is in store for Vivienne.

Soaring is fast moving with a few surprises along the way!

My Review

After reading the blurb I was keen to start reading and to see if a 30 year old murder could be solved but also to see how everything would turn out for Meredith. 

So what did I think...

First of all you get quite a good insight into Meredith's character she is in a bit of a slump and her life isn't necessarily going in the direction she had hoped it would. I loved the idea of the videotape and how something that should be so innocent as watching footage of yourself as a child turns into something else entirely. This discovery then sends both Meredith and the reader on a journey full of twists and turns. Meredith takes it upon herself to try and find her mother which of course opens up a whole can of worms. I liked that she was so determined to find out the truth at any cost.

The mystery of Cara's murder was great and had me trying to put the clues together to solve the crime. I enjoyed the fact that it was a cold case as I felt this added more to the mystery with so much time having passed. Trying to crack the case of a crime committed over 30 years ago is always going to be more difficult. So I was interested to see how they would get to the bottom of things. It was great to see the flashbacks to Cara's last few months and to see where everything went wrong. One of the things that I liked was that the characters weren't perfect as they all had their flaws. This definitely gave them a more natural and real life quality which made them all the more intriguing to get to know.

I have to admit compared with the last half of the book the first half moves a little slower but I liked the slow build up to discovering the truth. There are some tense moments along the way where I couldn't help but read faster and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen. Then near the end the story moves pretty quickly and I really didn't want to put my Kindle down. Everything came together brilliantly for the gripping conclusion along with a few surprises thrown in.

Lie To Me is a very intriguing story packed full of lies, secrets and betrayal!
